Post-Jam update!

I'd like to start with saying a had a great time participating in the "Weekly Game Jam 211"! Regardless of the fact I joined more than halfway through the competition I was proud of what I was able to achieve and hope to bring the things I've learned to future projects or jams. I received great feedback from other participants rating my game, and hopefully this update has address a few of the issues encountered.

ASTEROIDS:  One of the BIGGEST bugs I encountered was that for some reason, the actual circle sprites of the asteroids were simply not rendering. I didn't have enough time to fix it as I uploaded the game VERY last second and probably even a minute late. However after taking some time to figure it out... and by "some" I mean literally days, first I thought it was a layer issue, or maybe an issue with the html as it worked just fine in testing. After downloading the exe and realizing the issue wasn't just online and tried a million different adjustments to the layers and as a last resort attempt... I just needed to reimport the texture and it worked just fine!

BLOOM: This one is simply an aesthetic addition. I added a nice glow affect to the entire game just to give it more of a "polished" feel.

MASS MONITORING: I had at least one comment mentioning that it was too difficult to tell when you were about to lose, so here are some improvements that should make it more enjoyable. As you can probably tell from the pics, I moved the mass bar from the side of the screen to the top, hoping that it makes it easier to see while play. Along with this I changed the bar from filling left to right to filling from the middle towards the planet or moon depending on which one is getting too big hopefully making it easier to tell out of the corner of your eye. Also I made it opaque, I don't even know why I thought making it transparent was a good idea in the first place. Lastly I added a subtle red pulse to the planet and the moon anytime they are at risk of getting soo big you loose. Hopefully this makes the game easier and the goal more clear.

HIGHSCORE: This one is pretty straight forward, but I added a highscore system just to keep track of your progress and so you have a more long term goal while playing. I even added an option to reset your highscore in the settings, just incase you wanted to mess around with that.

STORE: So this one isn't really complete, but the button is there and a little sign that says "Coming Soon"... that might be a lie.. but I have already created the system for different color options for the planet and the planets trail. I hope to finish this in the future.

And that's all folks! I might've missed something but I think that's everything! I don't necessarily see this as a big project, or anything I hope to gain something other than experience from. So if you read this far I appreciate your interest and I hope you at least got a lil enjoyment out of my work.
